A friend has asked me to embroider a lid of a box for their parenst 50th wedding anniversary. She wants a small embroidery of Lily of the Valley as that was in her mothers bouquet and a quote above it. I have marked out the fabric and have started stitching it. I thought I would take a photo at each stage to see how it develops.
so now I am thinking that I maybe need to add in a bit of dark green with maybe a bluish tinge to it and do I need to make the leaves a bit wider?

Hi Joanna
I think it's looking lovely! I love lily of the valley.
If you look at the close ups of this cushion there are some really good pictures of some (I ogle this cushion all the time as I really want it but can't justify spending that much!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-LAURA-ASHLEY-VTG-LINEN-POM-POM-TRIM-CUSHION_W0QQitemZ120379893049QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Cushions_Throws_LE?hash=item120379893049&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Wow! That is just beautiful. I am sure the recipients will be happy to get this hand-made, just-for-them treasure. Have a great day! Liz
that looks good to me jo, maybe a bit of darker green...but saying that i am definatly no expert on embroidery!! it seems like a nice gift to think of on your friends part!
