Craft and cakes!

We all have our favourite blogs that we visit regularly......and then suddenly you come across something to shout about. ( in a good way). You may have already come across them but here goes anyway.

The first is here. It is the ideal opportunity to get on with your Christmas presents now(!) Well add a whole new set of things to the "to do" list. Its a list of tutorials organised by topic. I followed one and made a great pencil roll. I suddenly realised that we needed a birthday present for an 8 year old so spent Friday evening making one. ( pictured above) but then realised on Saturday morning that the fabric weren't right and made another in cutesy fabric, which means I can keep this one for me!

The next one came from craftzine and is all about cakes! We make our own birthday cakes, just before a birthday the children start to ask for a special shaped cake and we tend to dib out and hire a number cake shape and go with that. ( Although we are quite good at making a rocket from a swiss roll!) However this blog covers "professional" cakes , people have paid for these cakes. Hopefully not paid too much! Look out for the babies riding the carrots! that is a cake you have to see!

I seem to have offended Blogger and can't post a photo of the pencil roll. I will try to add it next time!

The pencil roll is a lovely idea for a gift. There are so many things on my 'craft to do list', and I think I should start making some Christmas Present now at the rate I'm going. Thanks for the reminder.
