I make something for my children each year for birthday and Christmas. Its very important to me that my children receive my things as well as other people.
At Christmas it is often the same gift tailored to each child and at birthdays it something designed just for them. I have decided this year to make name plaques for their bedroom doors.
I sort of have a code for each of them in that the eldest often gets things made with a space motif, the middle one has boats and the youngest has hot air balloons. Decided by me but not had nay complaints yet! Not everything is along those themes but lots of stuff is.
I use bonda web for put on the colours and then embroider the details on them.
I really enjoyed doing the sheep on the hillside of the hot air balloon but then I got bored of that so its only a small flock!
Its given me a bit of a fancy to do more pictorial stuff.

What a really lovely idea! Lots to keep you busy in the run up to Christmas.
oh what a lovely idea, and something they can treasure for years to come
These are very pretty. I think the sheep on the hillside are my favourite too!
they all look lovely, well done

You are such a good Mum. The motifs are so pretty. Your kids will love them. I agree that it is good to give handmade presents to children.
These are lovely, nice for them to keep as they grow up. I've made things for my children this year, usually too busy stitching for other people!
