Art Lift

Isn't that the most glorious burst of colour?
Since January I have been teaching a small group though the Art Lift Scheme. This is a trial scheme run in Gloucestershire within the NHS. Its is a series of visual and performance arts workshops that people can be reffered to through their GP or health professonal. The workshops are fee and subtiltled " Art to lift the soul"
The idea is to help people through long term illness to rediscover a bit more to life. It provides a social outlet and a chance to try new things in a secure environemnt. My workshops have used textiles with a stitched collage technique. We started with a theme of the sun and worked our way through painting, applique, beads, folis, sequins until we were left with a riot of colour.
