Weddings

Well its that time of year again for weddings. Not that I am going to any!

I have been working on a couple of commissions for weddings recently and thought I would share them with you.

This first piece is a padded heart.
Its a bit of a rushed photo taken just before I delivered it so its a bit dark. I had been playing around about how to mount it and suddenly hit on having a mount next to the glass and it seemed so right. Its for a couple who have been together a long time and it was important to them to have a handmade wedding. it sounded a lovely event with bunting and vintage china.

This second piece is for a friend who is marrying in August. I am embroidering a belt/waistband for her. She had an amazing year having spent most of it in bed! She had a baby and suffered from terrible SPD. I have added a link and it sounds such a harmless thing but she ended up hospitalized on morphine. However she is one of the happiest people I know and has come through it all smiling with a gorgeous baby and a partner who has seen it ALL and is still desperate to marry her! Unfortuanley I am away on holiday for the wedding so I don't get to goThe flower motif is taken from some lace on the dress. I still need to finish the piece but just thought I ought to show you that I do some sewing occasionally!

I love the different textures in the heart and the embroidery in the flower is exquisite.

I love the padded heart and the belt will be amazing, such a shame you will miss the wedding.

I do love the embroidery-so quiet, white on white! What sort of camera
did you get? I didn't see the name.
Takes great photos and I'm looking
for a new one.

So we both have a new camera, mine is definately 'mine', he can have the old one if he likes! Hard to get used to all the new knobs though.

How lovely, Joanna! I particularly love the sash. You're so clever. I've also been working on a wedding commission this week and it's been so exciting. Lots of love, Amanda xxx
