recycling carpet samples.

Do you like my new hall rug? I needed something just inside the door to catch all the dirt but be big enough for all 5 of us to get into the house, but low enough to open a door over and cheap enough to not be too precious about it............its hard to find something that fits all these criteria!
I would like to say it was me but it was my mum that found a bargain pile of carpet samples at a car boot sale.
I laced together the bound edges. It took about 2 hours.

and voila.... a new hall rug for less than £2
I have shown it to you now as it will be rarely be this clean again

Thanks for the kind thoughts over the 11 year olds teeth. He chipped one and broke about a third off the other front tooth. It doesn't look like he has damaged the nerves so we all have our fingers crossed that it can be resolved by capping the teeth.

3 cheers for the NHS.

Now that's what I call patchwork!

well done, at that price (although your work hours are priceless!) you can afford to ditch after a few years.

Great patchwork carpet!

I missed the previous post about the broken teeth. My daughter broke a large chunk off her front adult tooth (just over a third) when she was 10 years old. She had a 'temporary' cover fitted (which looked just like her tooth), and this was replaced a couple of years ago because she had outgrown it. She is now coming up to 15 and her broken tooth is no problem at all - you really can't see that it is broken. I think the plan is to cap it properly once her teeth have stopped growing and moving around.

Please be reassured that it isn't a disaster (like I thought it would be!).

Brilliant! My carpets in my new rented house are dire - I might just give this a go myself.
